Nevis Estate was built around 1842 by Reverend Michael Harris. Its Colonial/Georgian style sits beautifully on 4 acres of land. It’s easy 10 minute walk to the main street of historical picturesque Perth makes it possible to leave your car and still enjoy the many restaurants and unique shops.
It has been owned by many illustrious owners including Senator MacLaren and the Perkins family of Perth. For many years it was unoccupied so we have really worked hard to make this a beautiful place for you to stay and enjoy.
Senator McLaren was a lumber baron in the area and made incredible changes to the home. Adding huge additions to the original cottage, and building the beautiful Carriage House. This room is our luxurious suite - very large with Antique Furniture, king size bed, sitting area and large 4pc bathroom including a 2 person bath tub.
This was our first trip to Nevis Estate. Great location, friendly and caring people (I am partially disabled), everything was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was really wonderful, with several choices offered. Jenny is a great cook, and an equally great host. We have said we will return, and we will.
I honestly think it would be impossible to stay in a better place while visiting Perth. Jenny looks after you so well and it feels like you are staying in a friend’s house. You are made to feel so welcome and there is a lovely pool to relax by after a day exploring the local area. Breakfast is amazing too.
We only stayed one night, but wish we had could have stayed more. Jenny is a wonderful and fun host, and has a beautiful house to invite you into. Our room was updated and spotless; the breakfast was delicious and included fruit and home made coffee cake along with the full cooked breakfast.
